The kids looked Great!!

we just got back from Haiti yesterday it was a great trip we where able to take lots of rice down to the orphanage and Nerlande and Yonelson looked real good! Yonelosn has put on weight and he did have a sore but we where able to drain alot of the infection out Thanks to Nichole who was on this trip and is a nurse. Thank you so much Nichole we thank you and arron for all your hard work. It was so fun to get to see More Yonelsons personality and to see Nerlande sassy but cute personality we love them so much and miss them so much. we also where able to file our I-600 in Haiti and get there Visa pictures taken. so come on Haiti Government get the paper work going we want them home soon.

Talk of a date for our next trip!!

Well we have heard of a possible parent trip dates they say possibly mid june. Its just exciting to hear them talking about it, it means that it is getting closer to start planning. we miss these two sweet kids. You would never think that you can become so attached to them in just a few short days but you do I miss Nerlande standing in the bathroom while i was putting on my makeup and watching me then trying to put the make up on her. plus I loved how she always wanted to leave the room the minute she heard any of the other kids out in the hall. we are keeping Yonelson in our prayers that he is still doing well and that on this next trip he will feel much better.

Watching the kids

We just finished watching our videos from the trip and it was so fun to watch the kids run around and play again. I am struck by the attitude of the kids we met and the joy for life they have. I realize that this was a fun and exciting time for them but I think it is deeper than that. These kids haven't gotten caught up in all the hustle and bustle of the world our other kids live in and seem more able to just be in the moment. While the challenges they face are far more difficult than those we face here there is an innocence in their smiles that makes you immediately fall in love with each and every one. Earlier I mentioned how amazing it is how quickly we fell in love with Nerlande and Yonelson but as time goes by I find myself remembering the way Nathan stuck to Brent and would cry the very second he set him down. Luckily there was a very quick answer of simply picking him back up and the crying would instantly stop, wish I was that popular. :)

I also loved watching the huge smiles and obvious excitement as Abigaelle and Febrice (sp?) ran and jumped into the pool. Even the times when they were just sitting back and relaxing was nice. So while I love Nerlande and Yo, I also find my heart going out to all the kids and families we spent time with. I am amazed at the strength, love and compassion the group showed and felt releived to have Aaron and Chareyl and the experienced parents to show us the ropes.

We can't wait to see everyone again.
