Thank you Marilee and Pete and her cute kids for donating items and for collecting money and being great seller's. Plus Thank you Chareyl for the kids clothes you donated they helped us alot. We did great we where able to get $1204.00. we had lots of people ask us about the orphanage and the radio station said we would be able to come back next year. so I think the day turned out very well. I had a great time visiting with everyone and talk about our kids in Haiti and how we all learned about the good old Blink the kids like to do. By the way we think they should Include this in your travel packets.(lol) well we are getting closer to our trip I loved how the yard sale kept me busy and the month of may flew by and now after the holiday I can start to pack the rice and the kids items we are taking with us and get them to way the right weight for the airlines. see you guys soon at the airport either in salt lake or in Florida on our way to Haiti!

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU!!

We would like to give a big Thank you to Dave's Uncle and Aunt and there company for donating a total of $950.00 toward the Orphanage. We are so touched that they care about our kids and the kids in the orphanage. I hope on this trip and many trips to come the kids will continue to be a little bit healthier with the food that we are able to take down each time we go. It means a lot to us that people are able to donate at this time when money is tight. we love you guys and can not thank you enough.

What does TEAM mean?

Together Everyone Achieves More!! We as a group of adoptive parents have achieved alot for our little orphanage and I just wanted to say how I am so thankful for everyones  effort. because of this I feel a Little bit better knowing on this next trip we are going to take some great supplies that will help each of our little children to feel better with a little bit fuller stomach and maybe a little  bit healthier until we can visit next fall. So I hope you all feel good because as a whole group we have done alot, I know we will feel better when they are home in there beds, but until then we can feel good about the blessings we are giving the children in the orphanage and all those that are their taking care of our little ones. so lets continue on the road and keep working  hard at getting the orphanage well stocked with supplies and much needed medicine. I fell very blessed to know you as friends.

Are You Serious!

Whew, I have heard a lot of that phrase lately. Every time I tell someone that we are adopting and how long we expect it to take its like they all have been given a script.

You tell them the answer and they either say "OH",or "wow". But in my heart I am saying it is so worth the wait. I feel very blessed that I have the opportunity to travel to Haiti to visit and learn all about my kids homeland. I feel very blessed to take loads of food & medicine down to the orphanage and make sure my kids and all their friends will be able to have food and medicine until we can go back in a few months to love them. I do wish it was faster but I need to look at it as a great blessing that Maybe there is a great reason it takes awhile, so we as parents can travel there and take care of the orphanage and see what we can do as a strong group to help a country and people that are in despair and needs so much. There is a meaning to every road we travel down in our life. Haiti has a special place in my heart!

First Meeting

Its kinda hard to explain the feelings I went through as we pulled through the thick metal gates into the orphanage. We had just finished driving through living conditions I had never imagined and that pictures will never ever do justice to.

As we got out of the van kids ran in every direction to meet their adopting parents and the love and excitement on their faces was obvious. We kind of held back and waited our turn to meet Nerlande and Yonelson eagerly waiting their arrival. Candi and Nerlande hit it off from the first moment and she has been hooked to her hip since. It is amazing how similar her personality is to Paytons we just know they will be great friends and wonderful sisters. After Nerlande came out we were left waiting for Yonelson for nearly 20 minutes. Everybody at the orphanage kept telling us that he was just getting changed but you could tell something was wrong. Finally they brought him out and let us know that he was very sick and they were taking him to the hospital. We got to spend about 20 minutes holding him and were shocked by how tiny he is. He had an extremely high fever and obviously was not feeling well. We enjoyed our time together then hopped back in the van to take Nerlande to the hotel, we hope to see Yonelson tomorrow and our prayers are with him.
